About Delhi HJS Recruitment 2026
The High Court of Delhi has officially released the Delhi Higher Judicial Service (HJS) Examination 2026 notification for direct recruitment to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service (DHJS). This is a prestigious opportunity for experienced advocates and eligible judicial officers who aspire to serve in the higher judiciary of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
According to the official notification, a total of 27 vacancies (including 24 existing and 3 anticipated posts) will be filled through a comprehensive three-stage selection process consisting of the Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination, and Viva-Voce (Interview). The online application window has commenced from 01 July 2026 (10:00 AM) and will remain open until 15 July 2026 (5:30 PM).

Total Posts: 27 (24 Existing + 3 Anticipated)
Educational Qualification & Experience
For Advocates:
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from any recognized university in India.
- Must be enrolled as an advocate with any Bar Council in India.
- Must have been continuously practicing as an Advocate for not less than 7 years as of the last date of application submission (15 July 2026).
For Judicial Officers:
- Candidates should have completed seven years at the Bar before joining the subordinate judicial service, OR
- A combined experience of seven years as an Advocate and Judicial Officer.

Salary & Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive a handsome salary of Rs. 1,44,840 - 1,94,660/- per month As per 7th Pay Commission + Dearness Allowance + Other Benefits

Selection Process
The selection will be made through a three-stage examination process:
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Screening Test)
- Objective type (MCQ-based) examination
- Total Marks: 150
- Total Questions: 150
- Duration: 120 Minutes (2 Hours)
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer (25% negative marking)
- This is a qualifying/screening stage
Stage 2: Mains Examination (Written - Descriptive Type)
- Subjective/Descriptive type examination
- Four Papers of 200 marks each (except Paper 1 of 150 marks)
- Paper 1: General Knowledge & Language (150 Marks, 2 Hours)
- Paper 2: Law-I (200 Marks, 3 Hours)
- Paper 3: Law-II (200 Marks, 3 Hours)
- Paper 4: Law-III (200 Marks, 3 Hours)
- Total Mains Marks: 750
Stage 3: Viva-Voce (Interview)
- Personality Test and Interview
- Evaluation of legal knowledge, communication skills, and overall suitability
- Marks will be added to the Mains score for final merit list
- Only candidates who qualify in Mains will be called for Viva-Voce
